SSC CPO mock test 2026: free full-length Paper I tests in the new pattern

SSC changed Paper I of the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs Examination for 2026: it is now 100 questions in one hour, in four parts of 25 questions, each part with its own 15-minute timer. Mocks built for the old 200-question paper do not train the most important new skill, which is finishing a part inside its own timer. This page explains what a good SSC CPO 2026 mock looks like and how to use our free ones before Paper I on 23 to 28 November 2026 (proposed, in SSC's corrigendum of 26 October 2026).
The SSC CPO 2026 Paper I pattern
| Part | Subject | Questions | Marks | Timer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| I | General Intelligence and Reasoning | 25 | 25 | 15 minutes |
| II | General Knowledge and General Awareness | 25 | 25 | 15 minutes |
| III | Quantitative Aptitude | 25 | 25 | 15 minutes |
| IV | English Comprehension | 25 | 25 | 15 minutes |
| Total | 100 | 100 | 1 hour |
A right answer earns 1 mark and a wrong answer loses 0.25. Questions are in Hindi and English, except the English part. The source is SSC's notice of 10 September 2026; the full pattern is on our SSC CPO syllabus page.
What our SSC CPO mock tests include
- 15 full-length Paper I tests, each with 100 original questions in the 2026 pattern, timed part by part as in the real exam.
- English and Hindi for every question, so you can practise in the language you will use. The English part stays in English, as in the real paper.
- Answers with explanations after you submit, and a score with the 0.25 penalty applied.
- Rising difficulty. The early tests have more easy questions and the later ones more hard ones, so the last mocks you sit before the exam are the toughest.
- A practice set of untimed questions by topic for all four parts, for repair work between mocks.
Start with SSC CPO practice test 1, or see all tests on the SSC CPO page. The topic-wise practice set is untimed.
How to sit a mock so that it counts
- Sit it in one go, at the time of day your shift is likely to be, with no phone on the desk.
- Use the timers as they are. Do not stop a part early to "save" time; it cannot be moved to the next part in the real exam.
- Answer in two passes within each part: quick questions first, then the marked ones.
- Do not guess blindly. With −0.25 for a wrong answer, a blind guess among four options is worth only about 0.06 marks on average; a guess after ruling out two options is worth about 0.38. See SSC CPO negative marking.
- Analyse the same day. Note right, wrong and not reached for each part. Our guide on how to analyse an SSC CPO mock test has a simple table for this.
How to read your mock score
Paper I only shortlists candidates for the physical tests; the final merit is on Paper II. The minimum qualifying marks in Paper I are 30% for UR (30 marks out of 100), 25% for OBC and EWS, and 20% for the other categories, but the actual cut-off is set by the number of candidates and is much higher. Previous cut-offs were on a different, 200-mark paper, so they cannot be read directly as a target; SSC CPO cut-off explains how to use them.
A more useful measure in the last weeks is your trend: the same mock-to-mock improvement in each part, and fewer wrong answers.
A mock schedule up to the exam

| 9 to 15 November | 3 to 4 | Mistake notebook, formulas, current affairs |
| 16 to 22 November | 1 to 2 | Light revision; admit card 2 to 3 days before your date |
