The SSC CHSL 2026 admit card (SSC calls it the Admission Certificate) is issued online on ssc.gov.in shortly before your exam. As of 27 October 2026, SSC has not announced when Tier-I admit cards or city details will be out; Tier-I itself is proposed for 30 November to 31 December 2026, and your own date, shift and centre will be on your admit card. Bring a printout of it. If you did not complete Aadhaar authentication, also bring two recent colour passport photos and an original photo ID with the same date of birth, and report two hours early. Below is each step from the CHSL 2026 notice, and a checklist to print.

Dates and the application are covered in our SSC CHSL 2026 guide.

How the admit card comes

Step What the notice says
City and time-table information On the SSC website about 10 days before the exam (Para 14.4)
Details missing If you cannot find yours one week before the exam, contact your SSC Regional Office at once with proof that you applied (Para 14.4)
Admit card download Opens 2–3 days before the exam (Para 14.6)
Where Online only, on ssc.gov.in; also watch your Regional Office's website (Para 14.3)
Tier-II Qualified candidates get a new admit card (Para 14.1)

SSC does not promise an SMS or email for each step; its website is the source (Para 24(p)).

What to check on your admit card

  • Name, parents' names, date of birth: they must match your Class 10 certificate (Para 24(m)).
  • Photograph and signature: yours, and clear.
  • Date, shift, reporting time and venue: find the venue a day early.
  • Category, PwBD status, scribe if you opted for one.
  • Any extra document it asks for: you must bring it (Para 14.10).

If anything is wrong, contact your Regional Office straight away, quoting your registration and roll numbers (Para 14.5).

Documents and ID to carry

It depends on whether you completed Aadhaar authentication in your registration or application.

Aadhaar-authenticated Not Aadhaar-authenticated
Admit card printout Yes Yes
Two recent passport-size colour photos Not required (Para 9.3) Yes (Para 14.7)
Original photo ID with date of birth Not required (Para 9.3) Yes (Para 14.7)
Reporting Time on your admit card Two hours before the exam (Para 14.7)

Accepted photo IDs: Voter ID, driving licence, PAN card, passport, university, college or school ID card, Government or PSU employer ID, Ex-Serviceman Discharge Book, or any photo ID issued by the Central or State Government (Para 14.7); Para 24(r) adds an Aadhaar card or e-Aadhaar printout. If the ID shows no date of birth, add an original document that does: matriculation certificate, a CBSE, ICSE or State Board marksheet, birth certificate, category certificate or passport (Para 14.8).

Our advice: carry one original photo ID and two photos even if you are Aadhaar-authenticated, in case of a problem at the gate.

Items not allowed

Para 19.2 lists malpractices and the bans from SSC exams that follow:

What Debarment
Mobile phone, Bluetooth or wireless device, spy camera or any electronic gadget in the hall 3–5 years
Copying from written material, on paper or on the body 7 years
Photos or videos of questions, material or the lab 7 years
Firearms or weapons 7 years
Taking away rough sheets or the Commission's copy of the admit card 1–2 years
Leaving before the exit procedure is complete 1 year
Talking to, or looking at the screen of, another candidate 1–3 years
Forged admit card or ID 3–5 years

Smartwatches, earbuds and calculators count as gadgets. Carry only your documents.

Reporting and entry

  • Candidates without Aadhaar authentication must reach the centre two hours before the exam (Para 14.7). Everyone else follows the reporting and gate-closing times on the admit card.
  • At the gate your admit card and identity are checked. SSC also verifies photographs and biometrics and reviews CCTV footage after the exam (Para 19.1).
  • Visually impaired candidates could use Aadhaar OTP instead of face authentication when applying, but all of them go through biometric verification at the exam (Para 24(d)).
  • In the hall, check that the name and photo on your login screen are yours, and tell the invigilator if not. At the end, wait for the exit procedure.

Tier-I has a 15-minute timer for each of its four subjects; SSC CHSL sectional timing explains how it works on screen.

Scribe and compensatory time

  • Who qualifies: benchmark disability in blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected) or cerebral palsy (Para 7.1); other PwBD candidates with an Annexure-I certificate, and candidates with under 40% disability and difficulty in writing with an Annexure-IA certificate (Paras 7.2, 7.3). Only if you opted for it in the form (Para 7.4).
  • Own scribe: the scribe needs their own OTR with Aadhaar authentication. When the admit card goes live, you enter the scribe's OTR number and the OTP sent to the scribe's mobile, and your admit card and the scribe's Entry Pass are generated (Para 7.7). The scribe cannot be a CHSL 2026 candidate, cannot help anyone else, and must be one step below you in qualification (Para 7.5).
  • On the day: the Annexure-II or IIA form, a photocopy of the scribe's ID signed by both of you, and your medical certificate; the scribe brings their original ID (Paras 7.6, 14.9). If your scribe does not come, SSC provides one (Para 7.7(e)).
  • Time: 20 extra minutes per hour, whether or not you use the scribe (Paras 7.9, 7.10). Tier-I becomes 80 minutes, 20 per subject.

If there is a mismatch

  • Date of birth on the admit card differs from your ID or certificate: you will not be allowed to appear (Para 14.8).
  • Name or other details wrong: contact your Regional Office at once. Your name must match your Class 10 certificate at document verification (Para 24(m)).
  • Appearance: the application took your photo live, and you should look like it. Staff may stop a candidate who seems suspicious (Para 24(q)), so avoid a big change of look just before the exam.
  • Scribe documents missing: you will not be allowed to appear (Para 14.9).
